At 5^th and 6^th of June 2019  Xanthi Forest Directorate in collaboration with the Foundation for Thracian Art and Tradition, the Regional Center for Educational Planning and the Department of Primary Education in Xanthi, organized a book presentation and educational activities for the ecological sensitization of students in primary education about the new published book “Green Smiles” in the context of information actions of FoResMit program.

The children’s book “Green Smiles” is an educational tool for primary education and in a simple and understandable way it speaks about the environment, man and the mitigation of climate change through the light of the European project LIFE14 CCM/IT/000905.

About 240 students with their teachers from Xanthi Elementary Schools participated in the program. The children met the story of Vlasi, Demeter and Francesco, the heroes of the book “Green Smiles” and discussed with the writer and executives of the Xanthi Forest Directorate about the value of the environment and the ecosystem of peri-urban forests, the impact of unprecedented growth and the ecological footprint of the modern way of life, as well as the notion of climate justice.

Everyone who participated in the action was distributed the book and promotion material from FoResMit program.
